My Big Lesson on Leaving God Out
"Now I’m going to design some cool jewelry without God!”
That was my absurd thought one day 13 years ago. I never intended to create a Christian jewelry brand, but God clearly seemed to have other plans.
It didn’t go very well. I sat there for over an hour without coming up with a single
good idea. Finally, I gave up and said to God, “Okay, you can be part of this.” Suddenly, a thousand thoughts and ideas for new crosses flooded my mind. Crosses, which I had previously sworn, "I will neeeever make another cross again!" (Because it was so hard to get them symmetrical.)
Inspiration flowed, and new jewelry pieces were created.
That was the first and last time I tried to leave God out of my business and creative process. Without Him, I have nothing.
God is involved in every part of the business. I have so many testimonies about how God leads dorotheas. Everything from financial miracles to prompting me to give jewelry as encouragement at just the right time to the right people—people who needed it, though I had no way of knowing. God whispers to my heart.
Living with God is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. It’s such a comfort to know that no matter what happens, I am never alone. I can always turn to the Creator of the earth and my closest friend, Jesus.
I’m so happy and grateful to share the gift God has given me: to create meaningful jewelry that can remind you of God’s greatness and love.
I pray that everyone who comes into contact with dorotheas will be blessed and protected.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
LOVE,
/Emelie Dorothea
