About us

It all started in 2005 when I was in the third year of high school and started a UF company. Together with four guys, we had the idea of creating jewelry from wreckage and leather straps.

At the time, I had no idea that I had just begun my most fun, educational and toughest journey to date. That within just a few years of pearling, burning interest and training in silversmithing and design, my hobby would become my profession. That after six years with a shop on one of Gothenburg's main shopping streets, I moved out to small and quiet Vrångö, where only the wind, the waves and the birds are heard (and the occasional moped).

But now I'm here and couldn't be happier, I'm banging, filing and soldering to the fullest.
Each piece of jewelry is created with love and care. All jewelry is made of 18K gold, diamonds and sterling silver 925.
You can be sure that your piece of jewelry is unique as the craftsmanship makes small differences on each piece of jewelry, but the overall impression is always the same.
When dorotheas was newly started, in 2011, I sat and wrote the name over and over again, to come up with a good logo that felt right. Then the cross appeared.
I was overjoyed as I had recently become a Christian, and couldn't resist showing my mother. When she saw this she said: but Emelie, don't you know that Dorothea means God's gift?!
I didn't know that, and since the name was already registered, I couldn't be happier. It has continued on this path.

Inspiration flows when it is grounded in the positive, loving and empowering of my faith. With a desire to simultaneously create exclusive, interesting and timeless jewellery.
